What do I need to do to take the test?

• Bring your current learner, provisional or open Queensland or foreign licence
• Complete a Driver Licence Application/Renewal Form (F3000) form

What if I need to change the time of my test or cancel my test appointment?

You need to advise us or Queensland Transport at least two full days before your test if you wish to change your appointment time or cancel your test. If you do not give the required notice, you will forfeit the practical driving test fee and have to book and pay for another driving test later on. You can contact Queensland Transport to change your appointment on 13 23 80.

Your practical driving test fee will not be refunded if your test is cancelled for reasons such as:

• Arriving late
• Your logbook is not passed at the time of the test.

What do I do after I have passed the practical driving test?

If you are the holder of a learner licence and are applying for a provisional licence for the first time, you are required to pay the licence fee.

• For a one year P1 provisional, P2 provisional or open licence—A$27.65
• For a two year P1 provisional, P2 provisional or open licence—A$38.50
• For a three year P1 provisional, P2 provisional or open licence—A$49.35
• For a four year P1 provisional, P2 provisional or open licence—A$60.20
• For a five year P1 provisional, P2 provisional or open licence—A$71.05

If you are already the holder of a Queensland provisional or open licence, you will need to hand in your driver licence so that a new driver licence, showing the new class of licence, can be issued to you free of charge.

What if I fail the practical driving test?

If you fail the test, do not panic. Ask the driving examiner what driving tasks or skills you specifically need to work on, take the time to practise and book another test.

How many practical driving tests can I take?

You may take as many tests as you need, but you are only allowed to take one test in any given day. You will be required to pay the fee each time you undertake the practical driving test.
